Job oportunity: a Research Mathematical Statistician within the Geology, Energy, and Minerals Science Center

Specific duties will include:

• Adapt, develop, and apply rigorous statistical and mathematical techniques, including geostatistics, machine learning, and the use of computer algorithms to resource assessment and research problems.
• Ensure the scientific integrity and validity of statistical analyses and interpretations in resource assessment and research products.
• Innovate by developing methods to successfully complete research assignments or improve upon existing methodologies.
• Publish the results of scientific research in journal articles, USGS publications, book chapters, and abstracts following USGS Fundamental Science Practices rules.
