I hold a PhD in Technology, an MSc in Electrical Engineering, a BSc in Industrial Electrical Engineering, and a Teaching Degree in Mathematics. I am an assistant professor at the Guarapuava campus of the Federal University of Technology, Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil.
My research journey with Compositional Data Analysis (CoDa) began during my PhD studies in 2017, through participation in CoDa courses and workshops, and has progressed over the years. From 2024 to 2025, I have been undertaking a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Girona (UdG, Spain), focusing on CoDa analysis applied to Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) data.
I consider myself an introductory-level CoDa user. I was among the first researchers to apply CoDa to the analysis of time spent in different glucose ranges obtained from continuous glucose monitoring in patients with T1D, opening opportunities to explore glycemic profiles from a new perspective. This line of work continues to generate meaningful results published in Q1 and Q2 JCR journals.
I have been a faculty member at UTFPR since 2014 and have held administrative roles both on my campus and at the Rectorate level. Since 2023, I have been part of the permanent faculty in the Postgraduate Program in Technological Innovations (PPGIT, UTFPR), an interdisciplinary master’s program that welcomes students from both academic and industrial backgrounds to develop applied research. I intend to offer the course Introduction to Compositional Data Analysis within this program.
Within this interdisciplinary context, I also intend to explore and support applications of CoDa in various fields, aiming to keep developing useful and collaborative research activities.
